Specialist Nutrition formally adopts the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) and enhances its sustainability strategy
In early 2020, Arvum Group which includes Specialist Nutrition decided to enhance and formalize their commitment to operating in the most sustainable fashion possible. Recognizing the potential impact Agribusiness can have on the environment, climate and communities, the Arvum Group, launched a Sustainability Strategy Project with a steering group led by Jim Buckley, Director, Specialist Nutrition, and facilitated by Rebecca Byrne, a Senior Consultant at IDDEA Consulting.
Over 12 months, we developed a Sustainability Strategy that embraces the Triple Bottom Line concept, focusing on People, Planet and Profit.
This strategy embraces the role that the Arvum Group has in developing sustainable communities, businesses and farming practices and has identified an ambitious range of goals and projects for the near- and long-term future to support this role.
Sustainability is at the core of what we do in each of our businesses. We believe we are custodians of the future, working hard so that our actions today do not impact negatively on future generations. Our people share a culture focused on achieving this with integrity and ambition across each of our businesses.
We have begun the task of formally adopting the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs).
Sustainability is at the core of what we do in each of our businesses.
We believe we are custodians of the future and work hard to ensure our actions today do not negatively impact future generations.
To us, the sustainability of our planet and the environment, the sustainability of our communities and the sustainability of employees, customers and supply chain are equally important.
We are delighted to announce we have recently begun the first phase of formally adopting and committing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG), and a robust Strategic Sustainability Strategy has been deployed throughout all our operations.
Specialist Nutrition enables both its suppliers and its customers to contribute mainly to three of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's).
Using co-products from the food, beverage, and biofuel industries to create products and applications for feed, food, fermentation, and industrial applications, we contribute to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. The aim is to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusiveness and foster innovation.
Also significant is our contribution to SDG 13 Climate Action: we collaborate with our suppliers and customers to support them in reducing the CO2 emissions of their production processes products and applications.
Lastly and most importantly is SDG 15 Life on Land Aims being to halt biodiversity loss, prevent and restore land degradation and protect natural habitats.
